Workshops
Workshops offer us a way to advance in self-growth without necessarily being in therapy. These workshops are often attended by current or previous clients, but not always.
These short-term events offer a gentle way to check out the therapeutic environment with a low level of commitment. Many people also choose to attend workshops as a tune-up after having done a season of therapy. And yet for others, workshops offer a subtle way of encouraging family or friends to explore some of the healing possibilities in a non-threatening way.
Listed below are some of the workshops we hold regularly:
The Daring Way™ ~ The Daring Way™ is a highly experiential methodology based on the research of Dr. Brené Brown. The method was designed for work with individuals, couples, families, work teams, and organizational leaders.
This workshop can be facilitated in clinical, educational, and professional settings. During the process, we explore topics such as vulnerability, courage, shame, and worthiness.
We examine the thoughts, emotions, and behaviors that are holding us back. We also identify the new choices and practices that will move us toward more authentic and wholehearted living.
The primary focus is on developing shame-resilience skills and developing daily practices that transform the way we live, love, parent, and lead.
These workshops are approximately 18 hours, and the logistics vary based on the group’s needs. If you are interested in this workshop, please contact me for information about the next available program.
The Communication Practice – Be Seen, Heard, Understood. This therapeutic workshop focuses primarily on improving communication in our personal and intimate relationships: marital, parent/child, sibling, significant other, friend.
During the workshop, you will learn how your brain responds in relationships, what triggers may contribute to dysfunctions, often sub-consciously hijacking the communication process, leaving yourself and others frustrated or misunderstood.
Because humans have the need to be seen, heard, and understood, the goal of this workshop is to create the Safe Container for difficult conversations, healthy disclosure, and compassionate listening. Please call with inquiries.
Digging the Roots of Codependency ~ This workshop digs deep into understanding what codependency is and how it originates in our lives as a necessary coping strategy.
Participants will identify their own history of family dynamics which contributed to the loss of their authentic selves, as well as participate in exercises to reconnect with self. Workshops vary from 3+ hours.
Better Boundaries & Better Support ~ We are wounded and Alone; we heal in Relationship. This workshop is designed to enhance your support system.
Many people feel alone, especially as they go through difficult times and transitions. Participants will map out their social system and evaluate relationships and boundaries to seek healthy balance and support.
New Year New You ~ Each year, we host a workshop in January to support those wishing to be intentional with the gift of a new year. It is a time for reflection and focus.
We embrace the previous year’s experiences and lessons and allow it to offer direction to the coming year. Time is spent clarifying goals, aspirations, and dreams, as well as refining habits and creating positive change.
